We have been nominated for a local award and a national award; Master Castro has also been inducted into a prestigious groups within the United Taekwondo Alliance…and our response is GRATITUDE! Our school is a success because of all the individuals contributing and participating in our programs and initiatives.
CMAC is one of the nominated businesses in this year’s Best of the Best with the Athens Banner-Herald; we were nominated for the following:
-
Best Karate/Martial Arts School
There was incredible participation in this year’s nomination period which is a testament to how much our community loves their local business. The Athens Herald put us on this list because of “the amazing job [we] did getting the word out to loyal customers.” That means that OUR CMAC FAMILY is sharing the good news about what we do and what we aspire to do as a school, for our students, and in the community.
Although this is a tremendous honor, it will take a community effort to earn the recognition of the Best of the Best in Athens. Our request is that you not only vote for us, but encourage your friends and family to do so as well. Being one of the top five in our category gives us the opportunity to get the word out during the 2-week voting round. Our goal is to flood the voting center!
Here is the timeline for the rest of the contest:
-
Top 5 vote starts – May 10th
-
Top 5 Vote ends – May 24th
-
Top 3 Contacted – May 31st
This is not our only honor; we were recently informed by the United Taekwondo Alliance (UTA) that we are one of the ten finalists for school of the year…in the Nation! Wow! That’s incredible and humbling news.
The winner will be announced at this year’s Crystal Gala and we will be attending. Master Jose Castro, Naaman Castro, and Gideon Castro will be representing CMAC at this amazing event in June.
Not only will we be announced as a nominee (and named a winner…fingers crossed!), but Master Castro will be officially inducted into the groups that receives the International Martial Arts Medal of Merit from United Taekwondo Alliance.
Master Castro received the invitation/announcement about his individual recognition from Grand Master Jason Wadley on April 19th. There is a lot to look forward to about the June 9th UTA Crystal Gala event in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
We know that Master Castro is the BEST, but it’s validating when a national organization recognizes him as well for all of his hard work, dedication and commitment.
